1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information Stored Locally on Your Device

Amivio is designed with privacy in mind. The majority of your data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. This includes:

• Dive log entries (date, time, location, depth, duration, water conditions)
• Marine life sightings and photos
• Equipment information and maintenance records
• Certification details and photos
• Personal profile information and preferences
• Photos and videos (unless you choose to use cloud backup)

1.2 Information We Collect

We only collect minimal information necessary to provide our services:

• User ID: A unique identifier assigned to your account
• Coin Balance: Your current coin balance for in-app purchases
• Subscription Status: Information about your Pro membership subscription

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 User ID

Your User ID is used to:

• Identify your account across devices
• Manage your subscription status
• Track coin purchases and balance
• Provide customer support when needed

2.2 Coin and Subscription Information

We collect and store information about your coins and subscriptions to:

• Process in-app purchases through the App Store
• Manage your coin balance
• Activate and maintain your Pro membership benefits
• Prevent fraud and unauthorized access

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local Storage

All your diving data, including logs, photos, equipment, and certifications, is stored locally on your device using secure iOS storage mechanisms. This data:

• Remains on your device at all times
• Is protected by your device's security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)
• Is backed up through your iCloud backup (if enabled on your device)
• Is never transmitted to Amivio servers

3.2 Cloud Backup (Pro Members Only)

Pro members who choose to enable cloud backup for photos and videos:

• Media files are encrypted during transmission
• Files are stored securely on cloud servers
• You can disable cloud backup at any time
• You can delete your cloud-stored media at any time

3.3 Server-Side Data

The minimal data we store on our servers (User ID, coins, subscription status) is:

• Encrypted during transmission using industry-standard SSL/TLS
• Stored on secure servers with restricted access
• Protected by firewalls and security monitoring
• Regularly backed up to prevent data loss

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Apple App Store

All purchases (coins and subscriptions) are processed through Apple's App Store. Apple may collect payment information according to their own privacy policy. We do not have access to your payment information.

4.2 AI Marine Life Identification

When you use the AI identification feature:

• Photos are temporarily sent to our AI service for processing
• Photos are not stored or used for any other purpose
• Photos are deleted immediately after identification
• No personal information is associated with the photos

5. Your Rights and Choices

5.1 Access and Control

You have complete control over your data:

• View all your locally stored data within the app
• Export your dive logs and data at any time
• Delete individual dive logs, photos, or other records
• Delete your entire account and all associated data

5.2 Cloud Backup Control

Pro members can:

• Enable or disable cloud backup at any time
• Choose which media to upload
• Delete cloud-stored media individually or in bulk
• Download all cloud-stored media

5.3 Marketing Communications

We do not send marketing emails or push notifications unless you explicitly opt in. You can:

• Disable push notifications in iOS Settings
• Opt out of any communications at any time

6. Children's Privacy

Amivio is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 years of age. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it immediately.

7. Data Retention

7.1 Local Data

Data stored on your device remains there until you choose to delete it or uninstall the app.

7.2 Server Data

We retain your User ID, coin balance, and subscription status for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

• All server-side data is permanently deleted within 30 days
• Cloud-stored media is permanently deleted within 30 days
• This deletion is irreversible

8. International Data Transfers

Our servers may be located in different countries. By using Amivio, you consent to the transfer of your minimal server-side data (User ID, coins, subscription status) to these locations. We ensure all transfers comply with applicable data protection laws.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Sending a push notification (if you have them enabled)

Your continued use of Amivio after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

10. Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to know what personal information we collect
• Right to delete your personal information
• Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your information)
